Golden Finance reported that Tezos network equity holders Josh Jarrett and his wife Jessica Jarrett have once again filed a lawsuit against the IRS over its tax treatment of their tokens. In the latest lawsuit filed in the Tennessee Federal Court on October 10, the Jarretts argued that the tokens they created through staking should be considered property and taxed only when sold, not before. They believe that staking tokens involves the creation of a "new property" because no one else has owned them before, making them the same as "a farmer's crops, a writer's manuscript, or a manufacturer's product" and will not generate any income before being sold.
