Ethereum Trading Analysis 🚨

I have been tracking and analyzing over 800,000 Ethereum spot trades over the past five days. I wanted to find out who is buying and selling ETH. Here are my highly condensed results:

‣ Of the 830,000 trades, 50.5% were buys and 49.5% were sells.

‣ While the average buy was 0.232 ETH, the average sell was slightly higher at 0.238.

So overall, ETH presents a similar picture. However, things get interesting when we look at larger orders.

‣ There are only 263 buy orders with positions between $50,000 and $100,000, but we can see 347 sell orders in this group. That is more than 30% of sell orders!

‣ We see a similar picture when looking at trades between $100,000 and $500,000. With 73 sell trades, we have about 14% more sell orders than buy orders.

It is worth noting that the tracked trades do not include orders above 500K.

What does this mean?

While the overall numbers show a balanced picture, it seems that larger players are now slightly more likely to sell ETH.
