According to TechFlow, on October 7, Metaplanet, a Japanese listed company, purchased 108,786 bitcoins for 1 billion yen, with an average price of 9,192,359 yen (about 61,863 U.S. dollars) per bitcoin. It currently holds about 639,503 bitcoins, with a total purchase amount of 5.965 billion yen (about 40 million U.S. dollars), and an average price of 9,326,856 yen (about 62,768 U.S. dollars) per bitcoin. Metaplanet's stock price rose by more than 10% in 24 hours and is now reported at 1,012 yen.
