🔥 Attention Investors! Bitwise Just Took a Big Step to Let You Invest in XRP via an ETF 👀
Bitwise just filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ( #SEC ) for a new exchange-traded fund that would give investors exposure to #token #XRP .
In a filing on Wednesday, the fund manager said it already has the trustee (BNY) and custody of the assets (COIN), in this case XRP.
Bitwise, through this filing, emphasizes that “XRP is not a security,” contradicting what the SEC has said in the past. So far the SEC has not approved a #ETF. XRP spot and if it were to do so, it could mark a milestone. Also, remember that there were legal disputes between the SEC and #Ripple Foundation in the past.
Another important question is when the go-ahead could be given, would it be before the change of government or after? There is not much certainty about it. Meanwhile, the price of XRP in the last few hours was affected by the general fall of the crypto market.
