[Edward Snowden makes unexpected Solana statement]

Solana is considered by many to be the top blockchain project, but former U.S. intelligence officer Edward Snowden’s recent comments at the Token2049 event may have changed that opinion. He pointed out that Solana has a centralization problem and believes that its developers chose over-centralization in order to increase speed and reduce costs, which has had a negative impact.

Snowden believes that beyond memecoin issuance and scams, Solana’s on-chain innovation is limited and its emphasis on minimum viable products (MVPs) has been diluted. His comments prompted a rebuttal from Solana supporters, but some believed he was pointing out truths they were afraid to admit.

Solana has recently attracted a large number of meme coin issuances due to its low transaction costs, and has surpassed its competitor Ethereum in many data. Some companies even predict that its market value may reach half of Ethereum in the long term. Although the issue of centralization is controversial, it still requires a response from core developers.
