According to Foresight News, DL News reported that Canada has extended the compliance deadline for crypto trading platforms to the end of 2024 due to stablecoin risks. Previously, the deadline was originally scheduled for October. This extension provides trading platforms with more time to meet regulatory requirements or come up with safer alternatives. If crypto trading platforms fail to comply with regulations by the end of the year, they may face penalties, including being banned from providing certain products to Canadian users.
