DID (decentralized identity) project Civic recently joined hands with the Web3 car rental platform Rentality to provide car driver's license verification services on the Base chain (Coinbase).

Civic chief executive Chris Hart said the partnership with Rentality is about simplifying the cumbersome process of car group leasing. The traditional leasing process is cumbersome and requires going through physical intermediaries such as car dealers and insurance companies. The rental price will also increase and handling fees will be incurred. By allowing users to use the selfie function, scan their driver's license, ID card, etc., and then use Civic ID to verify eligibility, users can complete the process without publicly revealing their personal information. The rental car dealer can also provide KYC (Know Your Customer) verification.

Rentality CEO Oleksandr Tatura said that users can now use their own cryptocurrency wallets to rent cars, and the service has already started in Miami, with plans to expand to other regions in the future.
