A Real-Life Telegram Bot Scam.
In 2023, my friend named Imran was lured into a Telegram bot scam. The bot, claiming to offer automated trading on cryptocurrency exchanges, promised astronomical returns with minimal risk.
Imran, eager to supplement his income, deposited a small amount to test the bot.
Initially, the bot seemed to perform as advertised, generating consistent profits. Impressed, Imran invested a larger sum. However, as he tried to withdraw his earnings, he encountered a series of "technical glitches."
The bot's administrators assured him that these were temporary issues and that his funds were safe.
As days turned into weeks, Imran's patience began to wear thin. He contacted the bot's support team repeatedly, but their responses were evasive.
Eventually, he realized that he had been scammed. The bot was a Ponzi scheme designed to attract new investors with the profits of earlier ones.
