**News Flash: Linux Foundation Launches Decentralized Trust**

The Linux Foundation has unveiled the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust (LFDT), a new umbrella organization for open-source decentralized ecosystems. With over 100 members, including the entire Hyperledger Foundation, Hedera, and 13 new members, LFDT aims to foster innovation in ledger, identity, cryptography, and interoperability.

**Key Highlights:**

- **Hedera's Contribution:** Hedera has donated its entire source code, including the hashgraph consensus algorithm, to LFDT, now called Project Hiero.

- **Dfns Joins In:** Wallet-as-a-service provider Dfns has contributed its key management system, dubbed Project Lockness, to the trust.

- **New Members:** Hashgraph, Banco Central do Brasil, and Polygon are among the new members.

- **Hyperledger Updates:** Hyperledger Besu, now simply Besu, supports major CBDC projects, and the new Hyperledger Fabric 3.0 introduces a Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus mechanism.

LFDT's mission is to drive global innovation with transparency, reliability, and security.
