Donald Trump Gives Date for Highly Anticipated Cryptocurrency Project

Former US President Donald Trump has announced the official launch date of his cryptocurrency project, World Liberty Financial, which has been announced by his family for a long time.

In a video shared on his official X account, Trump said, “We will be launching World Liberty Financial live on Twitter Spaces at 20:00 on September 16. We are embracing the future with crypto and leaving behind slow, old big banks.”

Trump is embracing the crypto community, which he previously viewed negatively, during his presidential re-election campaign. Speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference this year, Trump said he would dismiss SEC Chairman Gary Gensler if re-elected. He also announced that he would stop the US from selling its 213,000 Bitcoins.

Trump’s project emphasizes security

World Liberty Financial sees security as a top priority and aims to encourage the adoption of stablecoins. Dolomite co-founder Corey Caplan joined the project as an advisor earlier this month. “We take no risks. We work with the world’s best security experts — Zokyo, Fuzzland, PeckShield, BlockSecTeam, and more. Our code has been extensively vetted by these industry leaders. We use best practices and prioritize user security,” the project said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

However, the project has been in the news after several members of the Trump family were hacked. Lara and Tiffany Trump’s X accounts were hacked after they shared misleading posts about a token allegedly associated with World Liberty Financial.
