Accenture Invests in Emtech to Modernize Central Banking Services
Accenture has made a strategic investment in fintech startup Emtech, a technology solutions company specializing in central banks and fintech firms. The goal is to integrate Emtech’s products into Accenture’s financial services, strengthening their fintech offering.
Founded in 2019 by Carmelle Cadet, a former IBM Blockchain executive, Emtech works with several central banks, including those of Ghana, Nigeria, and the Bahamas. The company offers solutions for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), regulatory infrastructure, and compliance tools for fintechs.
This investment is part of a shared vision to modernize banking infrastructure for the digital age. Emtech will join Accenture’s accelerator, Project Spotlight, to continue its development. The startup had already raised $10 million between 2022 and 2023 and relies on Hedera Hashgraph technology for its services.
Accenture, already active in the field of CBDCs, is thus strengthening its commitment alongside Emtech to transform the global banking sector.
