According to BlockBeats, on September 10, Fabric partnered with Polygon Labs to launch revolutionary hardware, the Verifiable Processing Unit (VPU) for ZK. The custom chip will change the ZK game by eliminating persistent obstacles to maximizing performance.
Enter Fabric’s custom VPU (Verifiable Processing Unit), the next generation of crypto-native hardware. Polygon Labs will invest $5 million to acquire VPU-based server systems, making Polygon Labs the first protocol to invest in these chips.
The VPU will implement full end-to-end systems for the Plonky2 and Polygon Plonky3 proof systems, both of which were developed by Polygon Labs core developers and others.
