Ex Populus is very excited to share the next chapter of its journey with you. First, we have been hard at work on Final Form and LAMOverse. Creating great games is a demanding process, and the development team at Ex Populus has been fully committed to perfecting each game to its full potential. As part of this update, we have created the following roadmap outlining our plans for the rest of the year. As you will soon see, Ex Populus has ambitious plans.
Now for the big news, Ex Populus has entered into a strategic partnership with Offchain Labs, the brains behind Arbitrum, the leading scaling solution for Ethereum. This collaboration makes Ex Populus a key Offchain strategic partner by submitting its game suite to the first L3 of the Arbitrum ecosystem, Xai.
The Xai blockchain is a third-layer blockchain built using Arbitrum technology. The Xai blockchain is the backbone of a new decentralized gaming ecosystem. With the help of Ex Populus' entire game library, Xai can provide a gaming ecosystem with multiple games, a dedicated blockchain, and a new unified token for gas and validating nodes. Ex Populus will serve as a "genesis contributor" to the Xai blockchain, and the ecosystem will be open to third-party developers to deploy their video games and gaming-related dApps.
The Xai blockchain, developed by Offchain Labs under the guidance of the Xai Foundation, is designed to meet the needs of large-scale web3 gaming. This blockchain is tailored for gaming, providing an abstracted wallet and account experience for traditional players, increased contract restrictions for developers, and a fully decentralized ecosystem that builds trust and transparency for all participants. By leveraging Ethereum's strong security measures, the Xai blockchain ensures its resistance to potential hacking and other vulnerabilities.
To promote decentralization and transparency, an offshore foundation will be established to maintain the Xai blockchain and related technologies. This setup is consistent with industry best practices and allows Ex Populus to focus on game development while the Xai Foundation focuses on game publishing, blockchain, ecosystem, and tokens. Initially, governance will be handled by the Xai Foundation, with plans to gradually transition to a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) governance model. The Xai Foundation will also serve as a game publisher for games deployed to the Xai blockchain. This means providing funding opportunities and marketing support for games, including Ex Populus' games.
Ex Populus is led by Mark Harris, the respected creative co-founder of Pixar, and a team of veterans from Ubisoft, Activision, Blizzard, Wargaming, and more. This world-class team is hard at work on Ex Populus’ upcoming games, Final Form and LAMOverse. Final Form will be released later this year with the new Xai blockchain. LAMOverse is still scheduled for an early access release early next year. The release of these games will be seamlessly timed with the establishment of the Xai ecosystem in partnership with Offchain Labs.
