Ripple's legal team filed documents with the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York on September 4, requesting a suspension of the $125 million fine in the August 7 judgment. The SEC has agreed to postpone the payment until after September 6. Ripple proposed to deposit 111% of the judgment amount, or approximately $139 million, into a bank account until the expiration of the appeal period or within 30 days after any appeal is resolved. Judge Analisa Torres has not yet approved the request. The CEO called it a "victory for Ripple."
