Final Fantasy XVI briefly appeared on PlayStation Plus due to a potential error. It added to the fandom’s excitement, who started sharing it on Twitter. The access to the game was revoked later on. There is no comment from Sony or Square Enix on this error yet.

The fans’ fantasies changed into reality when they spotted Final Fantasy XVI on PlayStation Plus. However, the reality turned out to be bitter when the game was removed.

Final Fantasy XVI had an exclusivity deal with PlayStation, but due to financial loss, the game will be launched on Xbox Game Pass. The announcement regarding this will be made in September. In addition to the Xbox announcement, the game is scheduled for release on PC by September 17.

Sony or Square Enix have not commented on the error

One account with the name @ZakkenKloot tweeted making an assumption “Because it will be announced for Xbox next month and it’s also coming to Game Pass. To compensate for that Square Enix will put it in PS+ as well.” However, there is no such statement or any as of yet from Sony or Square Enix on this matter.

Players have shared information about being able to load and save their files, but some also saw the access being revoked after some time.

PlayStation Plus premium subscribers residing in the US and UK were the only ones who saw the game available on the platform. Expectedly the access will be revoked for PlayStation Plus subscribers who had it downloaded before it was removed as well.
