[Bitlayer announces replacement of existing USDC Token contract] On August 30, Bitlayer, a native second-layer project of Bitcoin, announced that it would replace the existing USDC Token contract. According to the official announcement, the Token corresponding to the old contract will be renamed USDC.e in the official platform and major community projects. The new Token will continue to use the USDC name, and the Bitlayer official cross-chain bridge and major DeFi projects will support the new USDC. To ensure a smooth transition of user assets, Bitlayer will provide an official exchange portal and exchange tutorial to support users to exchange USDC.e for the new USDC at a ratio of 1:1. The specific contract replacement time will be disclosed in subsequent official announcements. This move is mainly to comply with the requirements of the Circle protocol and strategically introduce Circle into the Bitlayer ecosystem. Bitlayer will ensure that all operations during this adjustment process meet compliance requirements, the security of users' assets will be fully guaranteed, and try to minimize the impact on users.
