PANews reported on August 30 that according to Cointelegraph, Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes said that if Elon Musk does not designate a legal contact to represent X's business in Brazil, the company's X social media platform will be suspended in Brazil by August 29, 2024. Two weeks ago, X said that Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes threatened to arrest its legal representative in Brazil. In response, the X platform announced on August 17 that it would close its business in Brazil, but the social media service would continue to be open to all Brazilian users. It is reported that earlier this year, Musk said that Moraes took "illegal" and secret measures to force him to conduct content review on X. Moraes claimed that X allowed the promotion of "wrong information" about the Brazilian government on social media sites.

In response, the X government affairs team said that it would not secretly comply with illegal orders and would safeguard freedom of speech.
