Pavel Durov’s detention has been extended for an additional 48 hours.
Telegram has issued a statement regarding his detention:
“Telegram complies with EU laws, including the Digital Services Act. Our moderation aligns with industry standards and is constantly improving. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has nothing to hide and frequently travels in Europe. It is absurd to claim that the platform or its owner is responsible for abuses on the platform.
Nearly a billion users worldwide rely on Telegram for communication and critical information. We anticipate a swift resolution to this situation and stand by our users.”
Meanwhile, Justin Sun has called for the creation of a DAO to support Pavel Durov and has personally pledged $1,000,000 in donations.
