Cthulhu Stealer disguises itself as legitimate software like CleanMyMac and Adobe GenP. When users open the file, the macOS command line tool for running AppleScript and JavaScript is used to prompt for a password. After that, they are prompted to enter their crypto wallet password.

The software is similar to Atomic Stealer, which was discovered in 2023.
