On August 24, Telegram founder Pavel Durov was detained at Le Bourget airport in Paris.

He faces serious charges including drug trafficking, crimes against children, fraud and terrorism, according to French television channel TF1.

The arrest took place after he arrived from Azerbaijan, when he was with his girlfriend and bodyguard.

Durov was already on a wanted list in France. Charges are expected to be brought in the coming days, with a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
