On August 20, Jinshi Data reported that Germany's Producer Price Index (PPI) experienced a year-on-year decline in July, primarily driven by a significant reduction in energy prices. Energy prices saw a decrease of 4.1% compared to the previous year, with natural gas prices dropping by 12.3% and electricity prices falling by 9.2%.

Despite the overall decline in PPI, when energy prices are excluded, the index showed a modest increase of 0.9% year-on-year. The drop in energy costs continues to play a crucial role in shaping the broader economic landscape, influencing production costs and potentially impacting inflation in the coming months.
