According to Cointelegraph, decentralized applications (DApps) are slower than Web2 applications because they need to integrate data from multiple sources of blockchains. Pangea CEO Maxim Legg said that data indexing can solve the speed bottleneck of Web3 applications.

Legg pointed out that the data of blockchain infrastructure such as RPC nodes and smart contracts can reach hundreds of TB, and indexes can effectively organize this data to avoid each DApp developer from repeatedly solving infrastructure problems.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum's expansion goals in October, planning to process more than 100,000 transactions per second and enhance interoperability with its multi-layer network.

StarkWare CEO Ben Sasson said at DevCon 2024 that Starknet will quadruple TPS within three months, challenging the throughput of the Solana network. ZKsync plans to increase TPS to 10,000 by 2025 and reduce transaction fees to $0.0001. Solana's non-voting throughput is currently between 800 and 1,050 TPS, attracting the attention of developers and becoming a top ecosystem for development in 2024.
