U.S. House Republicans are looking for ways to avoid a government shutdown, but a second funding proposal was rejected Thursday night, hours before a Friday deadline, ChainCatcher reported.
House Speaker Johnson said Republicans have reached a plan C to avoid a government shutdown and plan to vote soon. Senate Republicans called the failure of the two proposals a "chaotic farce" and a "fiasco."
“I think we’ve come full circle,” said incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune.
