According to Foresight News, Safeheron chief scientist Max pointed out that Google's quantum chip Willow is currently unable to crack classical cryptography problems and does not threaten blockchain security.
However, quantum computing may approach a critical point in the next decade that threatens traditional cryptography. Safeheron has partnered with universities to research quantum-resistant algorithms.
Max called on the blockchain community to plan ahead and prepare for the technological shocks that may come from the quantum era.
