According to Odaily Planet Daily, Italy's capital gains tax on digital assets will remain at 26% until 2025, and the 2,000 euro tax-free zone will be abolished.

The tax will increase to 33% from 2026. Lega leader Giulio Centemero said without parliamentary intervention, the tax would have risen to 42%. Now there is an improved starting point, industry buy-in and a year to work towards the 2026 target.
