[Vitalik Buterin supports the proposed ERC-7683 cross-chain trade standard]

Uniswap Labs collaborated with Across Protocol to launch ERC-7683, a standard for cross-chain transaction execution that aims to create a unified architecture for cross-chain transactions and enhance interoperability between decentralized networks. The proposal has been made public on the Ethereum Magicians forum and aims to improve user experience and transaction efficiency.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed support, calling ERC-7683 “an open standard for marking cross-chain orders.” Explaining its functionality, he said that when users want to transfer tokens from one blockchain to another, ERC-7683 will help simplify the process and ensure safe transfer of tokens. The standard also integrates technologies such as batch processing and Merkle proofs to improve the efficiency of cross-chain transactions.

In addition, ERC-7683 introduces the CrossChainOrder structure code to simplify cross-chain order management and define basic parameters. The new standard also includes a standard smart contract interface called "ISettlementContract" to further improve cross-chain efficiency.

On August 9, Buterin transferred 3,000 ether coins (ETH), worth more than $8 million, to a new multi-signature wallet. According to Lookonchain, the funds may be used for charitable purposes, but this has not yet been confirmed.
