💥💥💥 CRYPTO IS TOPIC AS US ELECTIONS APPROACH
Representatives of major cryptocurrency firms in the US met via video conference with the Biden administration and Kamala Harris' team. According to a Yahoo Finance report dated August 8, industry leaders discussed how the Biden administration could "recalibrate" crypto policies. Coinbase Global chief legal officer Paul Grewal, Kraken CEO David Ripley, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire attended the meeting.
Crypto executives have hinted at the removal of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler as they demand regulatory clarity in the digital asset space. Many in the industry are critical of the SEC's enforcement of crypto firms under Gensler.
The meeting was organized by California Representative Ro Khanna and was also attended by National Economic Council director Lael Brainard, White House deputy assistant to the president Bruce Reed and Harris' senior advisor Kristine Lucius. After Biden announced that he would not seek re-election in 2024, many are calling for Harris to develop a crypto platform for her presidential campaign. As of August 8, neither Harris nor her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, have suggested making crypto a central part of their campaigns. In contrast, Republican candidate Donald Trump announced that his campaign would accept crypto donations and that he plans to oust Gensler if re-elected. $PEPE $SHIB $BONK
