Crypto analytics platform Nansen reported a security breach this morning, noting that some users’ blockchain addresses and password hashes, as well as email addresses, have been leaked.

The analyst firm wrote in an open letter that the leak occurred after a system of its third-party vendor was compromised. Preliminary investigations showed that 6.8% of users were affected and their email addresses were exposed. A small portion of password hashes and blockchain addresses of some accounts were also exposed, the report added.

Nansen said the breach was the result of a breach of the online systems of a third-party vendor "used by many Fortune 500 companies," but the company did not name the vendor.

The company notified affected users via email yesterday, advising them to change their passwords as other apps with the same email address and password may be at risk.

Some Nansen users said on Twitter that they received email alerts from the company yesterday.

The company said it is conducting a full investigation with its vendor and outside legal counsel and is "committed to being as transparent as possible with our users." #Nansen  Blockchain #安全漏洞
