According to TechFlow, on August 6, FinanceFeeds reported that the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) released a roadmap for "scaling capital markets based on distributed ledger technology (DLT)" to promote the issuance of sovereign, supranational and public agency (SSA) bonds in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

In 2024, the global issuance of SSA bonds based on DLT has exceeded US$1 billion, the market ecosystem continues to grow, and more and more banks and investors are beginning to adopt DLT. In this context, AFME encourages European SSA issuers to lead the transformation of capital markets, while calling on policymakers to ensure that the regulatory framework supports the deployment of DLT.
