Hackers who robbed the cryptocurrency bridge took advantage of market declines to buy Ethereum.

According to information provided by on-chain analysis platform Lookonchain, hackers who stole $200 million worth of cryptocurrency from the Nomad bridge preferred to buy during this decline.

The criminals, who took action on August 5, used $39.75 million worth of DAI to buy 16,892 ETH. They later sent these ETHs to Tornado Cash for laundering.

This attacker stole $200 million worth of assets from the Nomad bridge on August 2, 2022. The stolen assets included cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, DAI, and USD Coin (USDC).

At that time, a cyber attacker who exploited a vulnerability in the Replika contract on the Nomad bridge managed to transfer a large amount of crypto assets to his own accounts as a result of this exploit. Nomad is known as the main bridge of the Moonbeam Network (GLMR).
