Odaily Planet Daily News: Recently, it was reported that Coinbase appears to have violated campaign finance laws that prohibit current or future federal government contractors from making donations. Previously, Coinbase donated $25 million to the Fairshake cryptocurrency super PAC when they were actively negotiating a federal government contract. In response, Paul Grewal, chief legal officer of Coinbase, refuted it on X: "Whether intentional or unintentional, this is wrong information. According to the express provisions of 11 CFR 115.1, Coinbase is not a federal contractor. The USMS did not pay with grants-this was made clear in the public bidding." Earlier in early July, the U.S. Marshals Service under the U.S. Department of Justice selected Coinbase Prime as its "Class 1" large-cap digital asset custody and trading service provider. Coinbase stands out for its strong security record and institutional-level encryption service capabilities. Since its launch three years ago, Coinbase Prime has become the preferred platform for institutions and large crypto asset holders.
