Base, the L2 blockchain of the crypto-exchange Coinbase, continues to gain market share among DEX traders. As reported by Token Terminal, almost 80% of the monthly active traders on Uniswap are on Base.

With these milestones, Base is quickly surpassing rival blockchains like Ethereum mainnet and Arbitrum One, which previously dominated trading activity on DEX. 

According to the ranking of L2Beat, Base ranks second as the largest L2 blockchain, with just over 7 billion dollars of TVL. In first place, however, remains Arbitrum with 16.8 billion dollars of Total Value Locked (or TVL).

This second place in the ranking of Base was achieved last June 2024, when the blockchain L2 of Coinbase surpassed Optimism, which is currently still in third place with 6.3 billion dollars of TVL. 

Officially launched on the mainnet in August 2023, Base is continuously growing. In 2024, its TVL increased more than 10 times in just six months.

As per the poster, present are all the major representatives of Base and Coinbase, such as the CEO and Co-founder of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong. But also other high-profile guests for the crypto community, such as the co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin.

The NFT digital pins of the Paris 2024 Olympics 

Base is also the blockchain chosen by the Web3 division of Animoca Brands, nWay, to launch its digital NFT pins for the Paris 2024 Olympics. 

The launch took place through My Olympic Rewards and the campaign Onchain Summer by Coinbase. 

These NFTs represent the digital pins of the Paris 2024 mascot, and were launched specifically to celebrate the Olympic Games.
