According to TechFlow, Sui announced the launch of the groundbreaking Mysticeti consensus protocol on the mainnet. The protocol reduced consensus time by 80% on the testnet, reaching a consensus time of 390 milliseconds and settlement finality of 640 milliseconds.

Mysticeti is a new milestone in DAG-based consensus algorithms. In addition to decoupling latency and throughput, it can also maintain extremely high throughput in the event of network and node failures.

Its main advantages include: the minimum number of rounds required to complete the submission, increased throughput without increasing latency, and earlier submission of transactions.

Sui said this is a gradual rollout process and the upgrade will happen in several steps over the next few weeks. Mysticeti will provide an improved user experience for all applications and enable lightning-fast transactions.
