Odaily Planet Daily News: According to Indian news media Moneycontrol, India plans to release a discussion paper by September outlining its policy stance on cryptocurrencies. The report cited an interview with Economic Affairs Minister Ajay Seth. In the interview, Seth did not express a commitment to regulating the cryptocurrency industry through comprehensive legislation, but rather a position based on the consensus of stakeholders on the matter. Seth said: "Our policy position is how to consult with relevant stakeholders, so it is necessary to publicly state that a discussion paper will be released to discuss relevant issues, and then stakeholders will express their views. Currently, an inter-ministerial group is working on a broader cryptocurrency policy. We hope to publish the discussion paper by September." (CoinDesk)
