According to ChainCatcher, Mudit Gupta, Chief Information Security Officer of Polygon, tweeted that a considerable part of the world's IT infrastructure is currently paralyzed, including emergency services, airports, and stock exchanges. The problem stems from a vulnerability in the latest version of Crowdstrike Falcon EDR, which causes Windows devices to crash and restart constantly. Polygon Labs also uses Crowdstrike, but was not affected because they test before deploying non-critical updates. Mudit Gupta said he was confused that other companies that support critical operations did not do so.

Furthermore, he stressed that even if Polygon Labs were affected in such an IT incident, the Polygon Network would remain unaffected because its network is decentralized.
