NYSE Arca has applied to list and trade Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded products (ETFs) offered by asset management firm Bitwise, Cointelegraph reported.
Bitwise filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on November 26, planning to launch spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs on NYSE Arca, aiming to provide investors with balanced investments in these two major crypto assets.
The document does not mention a specific listing date, only that it will be launched as soon as possible after Form S-1 becomes effective. The ETF’s BTC and ETH holdings will approximate the market capitalization ratio of the two.
It is unclear whether the SEC will approve the product. Chairman Gary Gensler will resign on January 20, and the newly appointed chairman may affect the crypto regulatory environment.
