According to Cointelegraph, Tron founder Justin Sun bought a piece of art made of bananas and tape at an auction in New York for $6.2 million and plans to eat it himself.
The artwork is Maurizio Cattelan’s “Comedian,” made of fresh bananas and duct tape. Buyers can replace the rotten bananas and duct tape, and Sun is actually buying instructions and certification on how to make the artwork.
The auction was hosted by Sotheby's and the bidding lasted six minutes. The starting price was $800,000. In the end, Justin Sun won with $5.2 million plus $1 million in fees.
Sun, whose blockchain handles the majority of trading volume for Tether (USDT), the world’s largest stablecoin, has been investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission along with Tron.
