According to BlockBeats, on November 21, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) quoted the Washington Times as saying that the space utilization rate of federal government agencies in their headquarters in Washington, DC is only 12%.

The Department of Agriculture has space for more than 7,400 people, but only 456 staff members are on site on an average day, a 6 percent occupancy rate. DOGE questioned why U.S. taxpayer dollars should be spent maintaining empty buildings.
