According to Foresight News, Larry Harmon, an Ohio man, was sentenced to more than three years in prison for helping criminals launder more than $300 million in Bitcoin drug money. Harmon once operated Helix, a Bitcoin mixer on the dark web, helping hundreds of drug dealers evade tracking.

Despite the severity of his conduct, the judge granted leniency to Harmon for his assistance in prosecuting other cryptocurrency cases in the United States. Harmon was ordered to forfeit $311 million and was fined $60 million by the U.S. Treasury Department.
