A related subreddit highlighted numerous login attempts within a short period, as well as the hacking of Gmail accounts linked to exchange accounts where compensation is supposed to be sent. Users suspect that the liquidator might have allowed a data breach and called for enhanced security measures "on the final stretch."

Meanwhile, the Mt. Gox website has gone into maintenance, presumably to address the issue.
