On July 14, 2024, Binance turns seven years old.

From the "seven-year itch" to "Buddha said seven years is a reincarnation", seven years, a length of time that has been given many wonderful meanings, Binance has witnessed every step of Crypto out of the wilderness. It is also during these seven years that Binance has grown from a rising star to a dazzling giant that occupies half of the global cryptocurrency trading market.

In this early summer, which is regarded as the eve of another bull market, Foresight News sat down with four old friends from Binance, traveled through the corridor of time and space, and talked about Binance in their eyes, as well as those stories that were intertwined with emotion and sighs, or a little proud, and took this opportunity to look back at Binance’s shining moments and development trajectory in the past seven years. The following is their own story:

sisi: Why Binance? Because it is Binance

The beginning of my story with Binance is a bit dramatic.

Before joining Binance, I had submitted my resume to other platforms, but for various reasons, it didn’t go very smoothly. This confused me for a while. At that time, I was quite curious and awed by this industry, but because of the setbacks during that period, I felt very confused about how to integrate into this industry. One day, I happened to see a recruitment information posted by a sister on WeChat Moments. To be honest, I was unsure at the time and felt that my qualifications did not match the requirements. Looking back, I would now "thank" myself for bravely leaving a message at that moment. After leaving the message, I quickly received a reply from the sister, "Can you fight?" It was because of these few words that made me determined to go all out to join Binance.

Binance is the real "starting point of my crypto career" for me. Just like Hogwarts in Harry Potter, Binance is my magic school for entering the crypto world, helping me start from a "muggle" and master more new knowledge and skills. In other words, Binance is not just a job for me. I prefer to think of it as a journey full of opportunities and adventures, where I can meet a group of like-minded people and do something meaningful and interesting together.

To this day, my social media profile uses a phrase I like very much: "Always be on the offensive." I look forward to new challenges every day. First, it is a "spur" to myself, and at the same time, I think it is also an effort to fulfill the promise I made to Sister Yi.

As a member of the team, the "Binance moment" in my heart is quite special. It is not a thrilling moment, but the release of the Women's Day poster on March 8 this year. We split BINANCE into Brave, Integrity, Nimble, Authentic, Nurturing, Confident, and Empathetic, showing the power of women from all over the world. This poster is not only a visual expression, but also a spiritual encouragement, which makes me full of confidence and pride in my career choice.

Why Binance? Because it’s Binance.

Because Binance is sincere, hardcore, and unique.

In more practical terms, I am a very loyal BNB Holder. As someone who is "closest" to the Chinese community, I have heard a lot of BNB wealth-making myths. Of course, I can also proudly say that I once bought $7 of BNB. I have full confidence in the future of Binance and BNB, and I will continue to work for BNB Holders. I can proudly tell you that Binance's core value - "User-focused" is definitely not just talk.

Binance has been around for seven years, but it seems that we haven’t started to feel itchy yet. The industry is changing so fast that every day is full of freshness. I believe this is just the beginning. I hope that together we can break the traditional boundaries in the world of Web3 and build a more open, free and fair future.

God D: "The college student who made 2 million yuan by doing Binance rebates two years after graduation" is me

From the time I got to know Binance to the day when I was suddenly pushed into the spotlight, the "culprit" of all this should be Yijie.

At the end of last year (2023), Yijie mentioned me in an AMA as the "college student who made 2 million yuan by doing Binance rebates two years after graduation". Because of this incident, I was pushed to the "forefront" overnight. As a result, my fans increased a little, but it didn't actually affect my mood and life rhythm too much.

Looking back, my relationship with Binance can be traced back to 2017. At that time, by chance, I added Yijie’s WeChat. It was her invitation and recommendation that led me to embark on the journey of Binance KOL. From sharing with friends around me in the beginning to the current large-scale cooperation, Binance has also changed from a trading platform to a career for me.

After the unexpected influx of traffic, people often ask me if I have achieved financial freedom. After all, "2 million in commission rebates" sounds like a considerable number, but the fact is not. It may be due to some of my personal trading strategies or trading mentality, but I have never wanted my life to be affected by trading or investment. Therefore, for a long time, I have been controlling the proportion of investment in the cryptocurrency circle to within a quarter of my total personal assets. Based on this, even in the process of alternating bull and bear markets, I can keep a good trading mentality and enjoy life.

After all, trading should only occupy a small part of your life, right?

The "Binance moment" in my memory is the moment when CZ topped the list of the richest Chinese. Just like the reason why I firmly chose Binance among many centralized exchanges is simple - because Binance is the leader in the industry.

I hope that Binance will always be No. 1 in these seven years, the next seven years, and every seven years thereafter.

Senior Brother: For the past 7 years, the first thing I do when I wake up every day is to open Binance

My story may seem quite eventful to others, but to me, it is just a ripple in my peaceful life.

I remember one time, I exchanged ICO information with some friends in China, and naturally, I first learned about Binance. At that time, I was running a self-media platform that specialized in collating and sharing ICO information. When evaluating Binance's BNB sales, I gave it an A- rating, which was both a recognition of CZ's background and experience, and a rational consideration of Binance's competitive advantages that were not fully manifested at the time.

Based on the results of this survey, I decided to invest 20 ETH to participate in the BNB sales. However, the market is always so unexpected. After the opening, BNB suffered a broken issue price. But I didn't panic too much, but chose to divert my attention and continue to hold. Later, the September 4th incident caused the entire industry to experience a bloody reshuffle. Domestic exchanges were closed or went overseas one after another, while Binance rose rapidly with its global layout, which made me more determined in my original choice.

At one point, I owned six figures of BNB. Of course, over the years, the market has gone through ups and downs, and bull and bear markets have alternated. The amount of BNB I own has decreased a lot, but I still seized the opportunity brought by the BNB IPO, and the huge return on investment surprised myself.

In my memory, there are two "Binance moments" that shine particularly brightly. One was when Binance was hacked and thousands of BTC were stolen. CZ decisively promised to compensate users for their losses out of his own pocket. This move showed Binance's responsibility and courage. The other was leading the $150 million financing of Sky Mavis, the developer of Axie Infinity, to compensate users affected by the Ronin attack. Although Binance later significantly reduced the scale of the investment, it defended the shield of trust of users with practical actions.

Most of my trading operations are also done on Binance, and many of my profit strategies are also based on Binance. Every day when I wake up and turn on my phone, the first thing I do is to check the market on Binance. This has become my habitual action in the past 7 years. It is hard to imagine what life would be like without Binance.

In my eyes, Binance is a blockchain infrastructure company with a certain idealism. This ideal and bottom line is the key to Binance's rapid rise and continued leadership in the industry. Binance's service feedback is also very timely, and most of the problems encountered can be solved quickly, including the first sister who often personally serves as a customer service.

However, as user expectations rise and the industry changes with each passing day, Binance also needs to face new challenges. There are occasional voices in the market questioning the impact of its decisions on the market, such as the recent new listings being criticized for being blood-sucking. But I think it is biased to blame Binance for all the market fluctuations. I hope that Binance can use its influence and user support in the future to more prudently guide the primary market to avoid excessive profit-seeking. This is not only a challenge for itself, but also a responsibility as an industry leader.

One day in the cryptocurrency world is like one year in the real world. Although this is an exaggeration, it does reflect the speed of change. Binance is moving forward steadily in the ever-changing market. Just as I believe that Bitcoin will eventually match the market value of gold, I hope that by that time, Binance will still be the Nasdaq of the cryptocurrency world.

Big Orange: I participated in the Binance BNB sale, but lost 55,000 BNB

Before starting to tell the story of Binance, Big Orange told us a sad story about the beginning of his relationship with Crypto:

In 2013, I learned about the cryptocurrency world through the Bitcointalk forum. However, I did not buy Bitcoin at the beginning. Instead, I started arbitrageurs of XRP. The reason I did this was that at that time I felt that Bitcoin, a virtual currency, was ridiculously expensive at hundreds of dollars. In comparison, XRP was only worth a few cents, which seemed a lot more "normal." So I started to move my XRP from abroad to China. To put it simply, I bought tokens from foreign exchanges and then sold them on Taobao in China. This was unexpectedly successful that year.

It was precisely because of this experience that I participated in the primary investment of NEO in 2015. At that time, I spent 40,000 RMB to exchange for 18.2 bitcoins and invested them. For this, I posted my first WeChat Moments. Three years later, I sold them three times and made 120,000 yuan. But in fact, a year later, the value of these coins directly became hundreds of millions.

The "Binance Main Story" belonging to Big Orange is mixed with (the editor's) envy and (Big Orange's) regret:

In 2017, I invested 100,000 RMB in Binance’s BNB sales phase and received 110,000 BNB. Because of the huge “tuition” I paid on NEO, I decided to hold on firmly this time. Even when the price was halved soon after the launch, I did not think of selling the coin.

However, not long after, I "paid" a more expensive "tuition fee". At that time, in order to facilitate the viewing of BNB net asset value, I bound Binance's API to sosoBTC (now AICoin). Unfortunately, hackers obtained my account operation permissions by stealing the API and consumed half of the BNB in my account (about 55,000) through cross-trading operations. It was precisely because of this huge loss that I took the initiative to leave the cryptocurrency circle for two years to adjust my mentality.

For me, this theft must be the most impressive event since I "got together" with Binance. Of course, this is only for me personally. If I look at it from a more macro perspective, I think the "Binance moment" in my impression is actually a crisis public relations of Binance. In May 2019, Binance suffered a hacker attack and lost about 7,000 bitcoins (worth about 40 million US dollars at the time). At that time, Binance immediately announced that it would fully compensate the losses of affected users through its emergency insurance fund (SAFU). After that, it did a good job of "aftermath work" by strengthening cooperation with other trading platforms and security agencies.

The handling of this crisis has solidified my confidence in the security of Binance. From the perspective of a professional trader, Binance’s liquidity, stability, and fees are competitive enough. In this way, Binance has attracted about 70% of the world's trading volume, forming a significant aggregation effect. As this effect strengthens, Binance's top position will become more and more stable, and market concentration will continue to increase. For regular traders like me, this centralization trend is very beneficial.

In my eyes, Binance is first and foremost a world-leading cryptocurrency exchange, but it is not limited to being a trading platform, but also a multifunctional ecosystem. It not only provides convenient trading services, but also meets the diverse needs of different users through its rich ecosystem, educational resources, security measures and community support. I look forward to Binance creating greater glory in the next seven years!
