Survey Divides Cryptocurrency Investors in Two: Who's Expecting What?

According to CoinGecko's survey, only half of crypto investors and observers expect the market to be bullish, while the other half are bearish or neutral.

According to a survey conducted by CoinGecko between June 25 and July 8, when Bitcoin was down nearly 10%, only about half of crypto investors and observers currently have a “bull” view on the crypto market. In the survey where 2,558 people participated, 94% of the participants own cryptocurrency or work in the crypto industry.

According to the survey results, 49.3% of the participants stated that they were "bullish" or "somewhat bullish" about the current situation of the cryptocurrency market. About a quarter of respondents were almost evenly split between "bearish" and "somewhat bearish", while another quarter remained "neutral", stating that they did not expect a significant move in the market.

CoinGecko research analyst Lim Yu Qian stated that neutral sentiment could indicate participants are uncertain about crypto market conditions or are waiting for market developments.

Among the four groups surveyed, observers were the most pessimistic, with 40% expecting a bear market. Observers were defined as those with “no direct crypto involvement” and had the highest proportion of market neutrals at almost 30%.
