The U.S. House of Representatives failed to overturn President Biden's veto of a bill aimed at ending controversial SEC guidance policies. Although a majority of House members voted against Biden's support for the SEC's crypto accounting policy SAB 121, the vote fell short of the two-thirds needed to overturn the president's veto. Biden said in a statement that overturning the policy would unduly limit the SEC's ability to set appropriate safeguards and respond to future issues. Earlier on Wednesday, a number of crypto industry figures, including Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal, held a roundtable with lawmakers and White House representatives to discuss the differences between the industry and the Biden administration.
