🧐Wondering about the case of 4 P2P Binance scammers just arrested by Bac Ninh Police! 😡😡😡

Yesterday, Bac Ninh Provincial Police said they had just destroyed a P2P fraud ring on Binance, related to the merchant account "HOANG_COIN_247".

According to authorities, the form of fraud by bad guys is as follows:

🚨Step 1: Buy a phone number (not genuine).

🚨Step 2: Use your phone number to register for a Binance account, linking it to a bank account (also not genuine).

🚨Step 3: Offer USDT for sale at unusually low prices to attract victims. When someone places a buy order, the subject will proactively cancel the transaction and send a QR code to the victim in Binance's chat box, with the excuse of supporting manual transactions.

🚨Step 4: When the victim is tricked into scanning the QR code, the subject can take control of the Binance account, sell all crypto to USDT and withdraw it into cash.

In total, since the beginning of 2024, the group has successfully carried out 50 cases, appropriating about 10 billion VND. This is really a huge amount of money for Binance P2P transactions in Vietnam alone.

👉However, I have questions about why bad guys can take over Binance accounts just through a strange QR code? The police have not clearly explained this point, and we have not seen anyone in the Vietnamese crypto community sharing about cases of being scammed in a similar way?

🧐Normally a QR code only contains a link to a strange website. Users who accidentally enter their username, password and authentication code there are at risk of losing their account! The case of just scanning a QR and losing your account seems unreasonable.

In your opinion, these 4 people have committed fraud?
