According to ChainCatcher, the Helium community is discussing a new proposal, HIP 128, which proposes the creation of an ENERGY subnet to reward users for participating in the energy market through solar power generation and battery energy storage.

The subnet will support the integration and rewards of distributed energy resources (DERs), allowing home users to contribute to grid stability and receive rewards. The main advantages include dual mining, increased network activity and data credit consumption, entry into the renewable energy sector, and promotion of green energy practices.
