Fantom proposes to mint new tokens in proportion to the Sonic network six months after it goes live, ensuring continued growth and innovation of the network

According to TechFlow, Fantom announced that the third Sonic governance proposal was passed. The proposal will start minting new tokens in proportion six months after the Sonic network goes online for marketing, ecosystem growth and cooperation.

Launches projects with the $200 million FTM Sonic Labs Innovation Fund and accelerates Sonic Labs’ improved grant program, including:

• Sonic Spark: Providing innovation support to early-stage founders and the next generation of developers.

• Sonic University: Provides resources and guidance to college students to help them build dApps on Sonic.

• In addition, the innovative annual destruction mechanism ensures that all newly minted tokens are used for network growth and unused tokens are destroyed.

Additionally, if the community decides to keep inflation at 1.5% per year for six years, 47,625,000 tokens will be minted per year. If Sonic Labs only uses 5 million tokens that year, the Sonic Foundation will destroy the remaining tokens.
