Wu said that he learned that Binance published a blog stating that there has been an increase in Telegram-related fraud activities recently, especially cybercriminals impersonating Binance employees to commit fraud, deploy phishing or investment scams. Criminals also often impersonate Binance support robots. Users received spam and were added to a Binance Telegram group using the Binance logo, which also had a chat channel with fake Binance customer support representatives. In addition, Binance reminded that people who search for "download TG" in search engines are likely to encounter malicious unofficial TG software. Such malware may be repackaged to include malicious functionality. It is recommended to enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) to add an additional layer of security to TG accounts. When using Telegram, be sure to avoid sharing any personal or sensitive information.
