The User Asset Protection Fund (SAFU) is an emergency insurance fund that was established in 2018 to protect Binance users in extreme situations. It remains an important part of what sets us apart from other exchanges. Over the years, we have controlled the funds in SAFU, keeping the balance at a level sufficient to protect our users. Despite fluctuations, the balance usually remains at $1 billion.
Going forward, SAFU will remain a core part of our responsibility to the ecosystem and we will continue to evolve to meet market conditions. Today we transfer 100% of SAFU assets to USDC.
