According to TechFlow, the Eigen Foundation allocated the first strategic grant to the Celo Foundation to support the use of EigenDA in Celo Layer 2.
It is reported that cLabs first proposed migrating Celo from EVM-compatible L1 on EthCC in July last year and suggested using EigenDA. Migrating to L2 with EigenDA helps avoid the high costs associated with native Ethereum storage to maintain Celo's extremely low transaction fees.
