According to Odaily Planet Daily, a technology industry group urged the Biden administration on Tuesday not to issue regulations restricting global access to AI chips as the presidency is about to end.

The group, which represents companies including Amazon, Microsoft and Meta, warned that such restrictions would jeopardize U.S. leadership in AI and impose limits on the ability of American companies to sell computing systems overseas.

The rule could come as early as Friday. Jason Oxman, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Council, criticized the administration in a letter to U.S. Commerce Secretary Raimondo for insisting on issuing the rule in the final days of Biden's term.
